After nine years of creating and running 4 Hearts Brewing and the Pumpyard Bar, owners James and Tracey Long are passing the baton to the Anderson family.
The Anderson family, including son Jack and parents Karen and Deryk, will officially take over later this year. The Longs, occupied with other business commitments, felt they could no longer give the Pumpyard the attention it deserves.
James expressed confidence that the Andersons, particularly Jack, a long-time volunteer brewer, will continue to elevate the Pumpyard experience. The Andersons’ passion for craft beer began when Deryk and Karen lived in Virginia, USA, and since returning to Queensland, they have developed their own brewery, Stony Creek Brewing.
Jack, who has gained several brewing qualifications, found his passion during his work experience at the Pumpyard and decided to buy the business. The Andersons plan to honor the legacy of 4 Hearts while bringing their own touches to the Pumpyard Bar.
James and Tracey are excited to see the Pumpyard thrive under the Andersons and will continue to support them.
“We will be there, in the alleyway, with a cold beer in hand, cheering them on,” Tracey said.
